S&C Steven Sabados

Steven Sabados was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Canada. From an early age, Steven pursued his passion for the arts, finding avenues of expression in painting, photography, architecture and fashion. After completing an education in Fine Arts, Steven moved to Toronto where he excelled as the in-store Creative Director for some of Canada’s most successful retail brands including Eatons and Roots, as well as set design for some major television shows like “Fashion Television”.

He met his partner, Christopher Hyndman, in 1989. They formed an independent design firm, The Sabados Group. The powerful combination of Steven’s design vision and Chris’ dynamic energy made them a perfect fit for television.

Their smash hit "Designer Guys" debuted in 2001 followed by "Design Rivals" (2003) "So Chic with Steven and Chris" (2005) and the highly successful CBC daily talk show, “Steven and Chris” (2007-2015) hosting almost 1000 episodes in Canada and the United States. These popular programs continue to air in parts of the United States and in over 50 countries worldwide.

In 2007 they launched their own product brand, introducing collections of furniture, accessories, rugs, lighting and textiles under the brand S&C. Sadly we lost Christopher Hyndman in 2015 but his design legacy lives on through the artistry and leadership of Steven Sabados and his design team.

Steven went on to host “The Goods”, another daily talk show and the S&C product brand expanded with the introduction of the Steven Sabados STUDIO collections. This highly personal and dynamic product line takes inspiration directly from Steven’s own artwork, sculpture and photography.

Steven continues to have a recognizable presence both on television and through digital media. Under Steven’s creative leadership as an artist, photographer and designer, the playful tagline and philosophy of “timeless, fresh & fabulous” will continue to thrive.
